BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — Gas prices in Baltimore have risen 19.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.50 per gallon, according to GasBuddy's new survey. Prices in Baltimore are 12.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 22.5 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has declined 2.2 cents in the last week and stands at $4.00 per gallon.
"Most Americans continued to see average gasoline prices march higher last week. The reason is the season: gasoline demand is rising as more Americans are getting out, combined with the summer gasoline switchover, which is well underway, and continued refinery maintenance," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "The madness should slow down in th...
Former US President Donald Trump on Monday lashed out at the Democratic Party and at Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats. In an interview with Sebastian Gorka on his radio show, Trump said, “The Democrat Party hates Israel…they also see a lot of votes. Don't forget, when you see those Palestinian marches, even I am amazed at how many people are in those marches. And guys like Schumer see that and to him it’s votes. I think it's votes more than anything else because he was always pro-Israel. He's very anti-Israel now.” Trump then said, “Any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion. They hate everything about Israel and they should be ashamed of themselves.” The former President has in the past criticized some memb...

The White House conveyed a clear message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, indicating opposition to a large-scale ground offensive in Rafah.  Following a call between U.S. President Joe Biden and Netanyahu, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan emphasized that such an operation would exacerbate civilian casualties, worsen the humanitarian crisis, and further isolate Israel internationally. Sullivan stated during a White House press briefing, "A major ground operation there would be a mistake. It would lead to more innocent civilian deaths, worsen the already dire humanitarian crisis, deepen the anarchy in Gaza, and further isolate Israel internationally." However, Sullivan also underscored that the U.S. recognizes Israel's security concerns and is ...
Louis Vuitton's recent fashion offering has stirred debate and raised eyebrows with its latest T-shirt design featuring the colors of the Palestinian flag.  The controversy has prompted the brand's CEO, Sidney Toledano, to clarify that the design was an unintended coincidence, and steps are being taken to remove it from sale. The T-shirt, a part of Louis Vuitton's spring-summer 2024 collection, is a minimalist white garment embellished with a small logo in the iconic hues of the Palestinian flag: black, red, and green.  Louis Vuitton asserts that all designs underwent approval before October 7th, claiming ignorance of the significance attached to the watermelon, often symbolizing the Palestinian flag when shared in slices on social media. While Louis Vuitton ha...

Baltimore, MD - Mar. 18, 2024  -  Drivers can expect some changes starting Monday on the Beltway. The Maryland State Highway Administration is about to start the next phase of its work along Interstate 695 between the White Marsh Boulevard exit and the Lillian Holt Drive overpass. Significant off-peak delays are expected during this work period, the SHA said. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the Beltway in this area between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weeknights. “We appreciate the patience of our customers as we work hard to reduce congestion and improve safety along one of the busiest corridors in the state,” SHA Administrator William Pines said in a statement. “Drivers should plan extra commute time and consider alterna...
Donald Trump has been unable to finance an appeal bond for at least $450 million to cover a judgment in the New York attorney general’s business fraud case against him and is seeking a reprieve from an appellate court to keep the state from seizing assets, according to a court filing Monday. The former president’s lawyers said in the filing that Trump and the Trump Organization, the real estate hospitality and golf resort company he solely owns, have been unable to get a surety company, an insurer that issues court bonds, to accept property as collateral — stalling any efforts to obtain a bond that is due to be posted in a week. “Critical among these challenges is not just the inability and reluctance of the vast majority of sure...

Israeli foreign minister Israel Katz on Monday rebuked his counterpart at the European Union, Josep Borrell, for “attacking” Israel by claiming that famine was being used as “a weapon of war.” “Israel allows extensive humanitarian aid into Gaza by land, air, and sea for anyone willing to help. Despite Hamas violently disrupting aid convoys and UNRWA's collaboration with them, we persist,” Katz responded in a statement posted on X. “It's time for EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell to stop attacking Israel and recognize our right to self-defense against Hamas' crimes,” the Israeli foreign minister rebuked, in a social media post which tagged his various European counterparts. Borrell spoke at a conference in Brussels,...

Josep Borrell, the European Union's (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, on Monday accused Israel of using famine as a "weapon of war." Speaking at the start of a Brussels conference on humanitarian aid in Gaza, Borrell claimed, "In Gaza we are no longer on the brink of famine, we are in a state of famine, affecting thousands of people." "This is unacceptable. Famine is being used as a weapon of war. Israel is causing famine." Responding to Borrell, Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz (Likud) wrote, "Israel allows extensive humanitarian aid into Gaza by land, air, and sea for anyone willing to help." "Despite Hamas violently disrupting aid convoys and UNRWA's collaboration with them, we persist. It's time for EU Foreign Minister Josep ...
Senior defense officials are growing concerned that the US may slow weapons shipments to Israel, even if it does not state that officially, Israel Hayom reported. The concern follows the growing tensions between the Biden administration and the Israeli government over a potential military operation in Rafah. Earlier this month, in an interview on MSNBC, Biden said that an Israeli invasion of Rafah would be a red line but also said in the same breath that crossing it would not result in punitive measures against Israel. “It is a red line, but I am never going to leave Israel,” Biden said. “The defense of Israel is still critical, so there’s no red line I’m going to cut off all weapons.” Sources familiar with the details have s...
