Description

Join us to hear from Prof. Benveniste (Benny) Natan from the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering who heads the Technion Missile Propulsion Laboratory. The professor is visiting from Isreal and will be visiting the JMM as part of his brief tour of the U.S. Prof. Natan will discuss his latest research, specifically his success in producing a new rocket fuel that is both safer to handle than traditional alternatives and better for the environment. This technology will impact not only space travel but may also help to save civilian lives. Prof. Natans research interests focus on propulsion and combustion-related topics, including gel propellants for rocket and ramjet engines, hybrid rockets, boron combustion, combustion of metals, solid fuel combustion and more. He received his bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees at the Technion Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, and has been a member of the faculty since 1991. Prof. Natan was born in Greece in 1954 to Holocaust survivors. He and his wife frequently travel between Israel and Greece.
