At least five people were killed and dozens were injured after tornadoes ripped through parts of Texas Saturday night. The Canton Fire Department Capt. Brian Horton said that at least five were dead, including one person who was in a vehicle when a tornado tossed it along Highway 64 in Canton. Horton said the number of fatalities was expected to rise as dawn breaks. “We still may have people unaccounted for,” Horton said. Horton asked that people who didn’t need to be in the area to stay out, “so that our teams can do what they need to do to take care of these people who are in need.” He noted that a triage center was set up at the local high school. ETMC Regional Healthcare Systems hospitals in the region received at least 54 patients following the stor...
Prominent rabbi slams army order to integrate women into combat positions. 'They're destroying the Nation of Israel.' Head of the “Kiseh Rahamim” yeshiva Rabbi Meir Mazuz slammed during his weekly lesson the order to integrate women into combat positions in the army. The Rabbi’s words were published in the haredi paper “Kikar Hashabbat.” “The army is getting crazier all the time. Why are they doing this? Today there are female soldiers [...] But now, for the sake of ‘equality,’ they’re not only obligating women to serve in office jobs, but in tanks.” “They are destroying the Nation of Israel,” the Rabbi continued. “Women are not built for this. They do not have the endurance that men have. Thi...
Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal sent messages to Arab security prisoners, promising the prisoners are at the top of the priority list and that the Hamas leadership will do everything to ensure their release. "It will not be long before the fighting forces will force Israel to pay the price and to release the Palestinian prisoners," Mashaal said, hinting there may be a new swap similar to the 2011 Shalit deal. In an interview with Al-Quds, Mashaal called for complete unity between the Arab terrorist organizations, both in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza and in other places as well. He also called on the various organizations to work together with liberals around the world in order to support prisoners and "expose" Israel's "acts against them." In fact, Arab terrorists have said they enjoyed a&...
Turkish President Erdogan says Turkey, US, should back Free Syrian army, clear ISIS capital. With US help, Turkey could launch a major offensive, Erdogan said, with the goal being to attack ISIS' capital of Raqqa, Syria. "The huge America, the coalition and Turkey can join hands and turn Raqqa in to an ISIS graveyard," Erdogan said at an Istanbul press conference. "They will look for a place for themselves to hide." "We now need to clear Manbij from them. Once we clear Manbij, the real center is where? In Raqqa. It is thought that an estimated 2,500 to 5,000 Daesh (ISIS) terrorists are in Raqqa. Now Turkey, the Free Syrian Army, along with the coalition led b...

A PA official said on Saturday that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas “completely rejects” Israel’s call to the PA to stop granting stipends to jailed terrorists, Channel 2 reported. The PA’s official in charge of “prisoner affairs” Issa Qaraqe said that the PA was fully supportive of Palestinian terrorists sitting in Israeli jails. “We will continue funding them. The striking terrorists are demanding a range o...
Haredi MK Uri Maklev blasts recent news video fabricating haredi attack on reporter. 'He wouldn't have dared try this in an Arab town.' MK Uri Maklev (UTJ) responded to a report indicating that a video uploaded by a reporter to Facebook on Thursday showing himself supposedly being attacked by haredim in Bnei Brak was, in fact, a fabrication. “We demand that the reporter be fired,” Maklev told Kol Baramah. “He needs to be sued in a court of law for incitement,” he added. Maklev decried anti-haredi bias in Israeli media, asserting that the reporter wouldn’t have dared to pull such a stunt in an Arab town. “Outside of Israel he and his editor would have been fired immediately,” he said. On Thursday, a reporter...
Jewish leaders in France demanded that police relate to the murder of Jewish woman Sarah Halimi at the hands of her Arab neighbor as murder - and not as the act of an insane and unstable person. Halimi, 66, was cruelly murdered at the beginning of April after she was attacked by a terrorist while she was sleeping in her apartment. He stabbed her and then threw her from the third story to her death. Yoel Margi, who heads “Consistoire,” which provides religious services to Jews in France, emphasized the fact that the suspect had shouted “Allahu Akbar” before pushing Halimi out of the window. “I refuse to accept the easy excuse of insanity for a murderer who tried to make the incident look like a suicide, before eyewitnesses powerless to act,” h...
A bereaved father interrupted Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech today following the confrontation between Knesset members and bereaved families at the State Control Committee meeting on Operation Protective Edge. Shaul Chitiat, who lost his son Omri in 1996, called out to the Prime Minister: “Even on this holy day I do not forgive the tears of Leah Goldin, her tears obligated a response and an immediate request for forgiveness.” Netanyahu waited silently until the father had finished speaking, and only then continued his speech. Netanyahu said at the ceremony that, no less than we remember fallen soldiers, they remind us of who we are and what the purpose of our actions are. He said that the memory of events of the past is ingrained in our national consciousness. He a...
Nikki Haley didn’t wait to take office as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations to break with the Trump administration’s foreign policy stances. At her Senate confirmation hearing, Haley bluntly accused Russia of being complicit of war crimes in Syria — going against the president-elect’s talk of warmer relations with Moscow. Three months later, she remains boldly off-message. Much to the chagrin of Washington diplomats, her remarks often go well beyond the carefully worded scripts crafted by the White House and State Department. She’s warned Syrian President Bashar Assad that “the days of your arrogance and disregard of humanity are over,” even as other top aides to President Donald Trump insisted that his fate was a decision for the Syrian peo...
Tzipi Hotovely expresses support for Netanyahu amid diplomatic row with Germany, says Europe needs to understand Israel's position. In an interview on Sunday with Arutz Sheva, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) spoke about Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's ultimatum to Germany's Foreign Minister last week, and subsequent cancellation of a meeting with the minister. Netanyahu canceled his meeting with German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel after Gabriel met with radical anti-IDF organizations Breaking the Silence and B'Tselem. "For over a year and a half, I've been speaking to European ministers about the funding they give Breaking the Silence," Hotovely said. "We tell them they're funding organizations whose aim is t...
Tragedy struck a preschool in the town of Kiryat Gat Sunday afternoon, when a 3-year old boy choked while playing a playground sandbox. Attempts by emergency first responders and hospital staff to resuscitate him were unsuccessful, and the boy was ultimately declared dead. Officials say the boy apparently choked on sand which he or another child had placed in his mouth. A preschool teacher who noticed the boy exhibiting signs of distress called for emergency medical assistance. “I got a phone call from a preschool teacher who said that one of the kids who was playing in the sandbox was feeling ill, and had told [her] that sand had gone into his mouth,” said United Hatzalah paramedic Haim Matzliah. Matzliah, the first emergency medical responder to arrive at the scene, said t...
Deputy Foreign Minister Hotovely says rumors Trump plans US Embassy move are probably just rumors - but she's still hopeful they're true. In a Sunday interview with Arutz Sheva, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) spoke about US President Donald Trump's upcoming visit. Trump is expected to visit Israel in approximately three weeks, and preparations for the visit are already underway. "First of all, this visit is a huge celebration, even more than previous presidents' trips," Hotovely said. "On this trip, Israel is the president's first stop, and he's coming to greet us as the President of the US. It's almost unprecedented, and it shows Trump's enormous goodwill and his desire to be a true friend of Israel." "We are happy to acce...
The Likud’s haredi faction on Monday will be holding a special memorial ceremony. On Sunday night and Monday, Israel will mark Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day for the Fallen Soldiers of Israel and Victims of Terrorism. The haredi community generally avoids IDF service. Those who enlist often face incitement and violence from extremists within their communities. This is the second year that members of the haredi faction of the Likud are organizing the ceremony at the Ponevezh Cemetery in Bnei Brak, where a number of fallen haredi soldiers are buried. Last year, the ceremony was interrupted by haredi extremists who attempted to prevent the ceremony from taking place and proceeded to chase away the majority of the participants. The ceremony will be at...
According to the NYPD, two shots were fired from a moving vehicle on 18 Avenue and 53 Street at around 7:00PM. The shots appear to have been directed at an individual standing on the sidewalk. The NYPD 66 Precinct Detectives are working closely on the case and appear to have video footage as well as info on the perpetrators. Residents should be aware that this appears to have been an isolated incident and it does not appear the Jewish community was targeted. Additional police patrols have been added to the area.
Despite previous criticism from Jewish groups, Pope Francis on Saturday repeated his assertion that some migrant holding centers in Europe amount to "concentration camps", The Associated Press reports. A German reporter asked the Pope if he had made a linguistic slip when he first made the remarks last week, adding that they had been met with shock in Germany. In response, the Pope appeared to not appreciate the controversy, saying that there are some refugee holding centers where migrants are penned in and prevented from leaving. "There are refugee camps that are true concentration camps," he said, according to AP. The American Jewish Committee (AJC) last week sharply criticized the Pope's remarks and urged him to use a different choice of words. “...
