Peres Funeral: Influx Of World Leaders And Masses Poses Large Security Challenge
Heads of state and other dignitaries arriving in Israel to attend the funeral will be accommodated in four of the capital’s hotels. Police and Foreign Ministry jumped in to high gear to prepare for former president Shimon Peres’s funeral and the influx of foreign dignitaries. Traffic will be restricted and diverted throughout Jerusalem on Thursday and Friday to enable the funeral convoy and the entrance of foreign dignitaries.Heads of state and other dignitaries arriving in Israel to attend the funeral will be accommodated in four of the capital’s hotels. Cuba Rejects Trump's Call For Negotiations On Human Rights
HAVANA (AP) — A top Cuban diplomat on Wednesday rejected Donald Trump's threat to undo detente with Cuba unless the single-party government meets the Republican presidential candidate's demands. Trump said in Miami this month that he would reverse President Barack Obama's executive orders loosening the U.S. trade embargo on the island unless Cuba meets demands including "religious and political freedom for the Cuban people and the freeing of political prisoners." Man Arrested After Suspected Drug Den Explodes, Killing Fire Chief: Police
A man who was questioned in the New York City blast that killed an FDNY battalion chief earlier this week was cuffed as a fugitive, authorities in New Jersey said, while a second man has been arrested in New York City.  Garivaldi Castillo, 32, of Washington Heights, was arrested Wednesday night on felony charges of criminal possession of marijuana, police said. More charges could come depending on what investigators find at the scene of the Bronx explosion Tuesday. Rawlings-Blake Says Mosby Mis-Characterized Conversations On Gray Case
Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake on Wednesday accused State's Attorney of mis-characterizing their conversations following the death of Freddie Gray. Mosby was the subject of a lengthy piece Wednesday in The New York Times Magazine that went into her background and included reflections by the state's attorney on the Gray case. Gray was the 25-year-old black man who died of injuries suffered in the back of a Baltimore police van. Six officers were charged--three were acquitted in bench trials, while charges against the remaining three were dropped in July. Congress Overwhelmingly Rejects Veto Of Sept. 11 Bill
WASHINGTON (AP) — Congress has rejected a veto by President Barack Obama for the first time since he became president. The House voted 348-77 Wednesday to override his veto of legislation and allow the families of Sept. 11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia for the kingdom's alleged backing of the attackers. The Senate had voted 97-1 to override his veto. The lawsuit legislation now becomes law despite elements that Obama and top Pentagon officials warn could put U.S. troops and interests at risk. Hadassah Hospital Moves To Heightened Alert Status Ahead Of Funeral Of The Late President Peres
Hadassah Ein Kerem spokesperson Hadar Elboim reports that in light of the erev Shabbos levaya for former President Shimon Peres, the hospital is moving to heightened alert status. The hospital announced states the hospital/trauma center will move to heightened alert for the levaya which will bring thousands including Israeli elected officials and VIPs from Israel and around the world. The hospital has notified relevant departments to move to heightened alert ahead of the funeral, including emergency services and the trauma unit. On-call personnel from all departments have been informed to remain on hospital grounds until the completion of the funeral. President Obama to Visit Israel, Attend Funeral of Shimon Peres
President Obama is set to travel to Israel to lead the U.S. delegation attending the funeral services Friday for former Israeli President Shimon Peres, the White House announced Wednesday. The president departs Thursday and will return to the United States after the services. In a statement late Tuesday evening, President Obama called Peres his "friend," who worked tirelessly over decades to strengthen the alliance between the United States and Israel. He also hailed Peres' work in pursuit of peace between the Israeli and Palestinian people, and said there would be "no greater tribute to his life than to renew our commitment to the peace that we know is possible." Obama honored Peres with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012.

Authorities: Teenager Killed Father Before Wounding 2 Students, 1 Teacher In S.C. School Shooting
A teenager killed his father at their home Wednesday before going to a nearby elementary school and opening fire with a handgun, wounding two students and a teacher, authorities said. The teen was apprehended within minutes of the school shooting in this rural town about 110 miles northeast of Atlanta. One of the students was shot in the leg and the other in the foot, Capt. Garland Major with the Anderson County sheriff's office said. Both students were male. The female teacher was hit in the shoulder. FBI Director: Hackers 'Poking Around' Voter Systems
Washington (CNN) The FBI has discovered attempted hacks of voter registration sites in more than a dozen states according to two law enforcement officials. US investigators believe that Russia is behind those attempted hacks the officials said. A majority of Americans say Democrat Hillary Clinton won Monday night's presidential debate, but her performance doesn't appear to have boosted her level of support among likely voters, according to a Reuters/Ipsos national tracking poll released on Wednesday. Iran: We Have Missiles That Can Reach Israel
A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Iran is in possession of missiles with a range enough to reach Israel, Press TV reports. “We do not need missiles with a range of over 2,000 kilometers. The longest range required for [Iran’s] missiles is the [Israeli] occupied lands,” Commander of the IRGC’s Aerospace Division Brigadier General Amirali Hajizadeh told reporters on Tuesday, adding that Iran has already the necessary missiles for this purpose. Iran is a country capable of producing missiles, the IRGC commander said, adding, “The Zionist regime is our biggest target.”

FBI Identifies Two Men Who Removed Undetonated Bomb In Manhattan As ‘Egyptian Pilots’; They Have Left The United States
Two men seen removing an unexploded bomb from a suitcase left on the street by the Chelsea bomber have been identified by the FBI. Officials say the pair are both Egyptian pilots who have since left the U.S., presumably to return to Egypt. Their names have not yet been made public. The men had been seen on surveillance video removing the bomb from luggage on West 27th Street, Manhattan, at around 8pm on the night of the Chlsea bombing attack on September 17. South Carolina School Shooting: 2 Children, 1 Teacher Wounded, Official Says
(CNN)Two children and a teacher were shot by a gunman at an elementary school in Townville, South Carolina, a spokesman for Anderson County Emergency Management told reporters Wednesday afternoon. The students were sent to a local trauma center, Taylor Jones said. One child was taken to Greenville Health System emergency trauma center by helicopter, spokeswoman Sandy Dees said. The teacher was also hospitalized. The severity of the injuries is not known. The suspected shooter, a teenager, is in custody, Jones said. Charter Flight With Hundred Of Passengers From NYC To Uman Cancelled Hours Before Take-Off
Hundreds of people scheduled to leave New York on Wednesday night for Uman have just been notified that the flight has been cancelled. The tickets were sold by a well-respected travel agency, and the passengers were being flown on a privately chartered 747. The flight was advertised as a direct flight. Although it is unclear about why exactly the flight was cancelled, sources tell YWN that the flight did not have the appropriate landing permits in Ukraine, prompting the cancellation of the flight. Passengers who spoke to the travel agency are being told that their money was being refunded, and being told that they can try and make alternate travel arrangements.
