Three gunmen shot and wounded eight people including a 3-year-old girl on an east Baltimore street Saturday night, police said, adding the suspects fled and the victims were all expected to survive.
The shooting erupted outside some rowhouses about 8:30 p.m. after the three armed men converged on the group from different points, Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said at a news conference.
Davis, who went to the scene, said the shooting was a premeditated act of retaliatory violence in response to a Labor Day weekend shooting in which a man was fatally shot and two women were wounded, one of them pregnant. He did not immediately explain how investigators believed the shootings were linked.

NEW YORK (AP) — Social media app Snapchat is introducing video-recording glasses called Spectacles and is changing its company name to incorporate the new product.
The glasses can record video 10 seconds at a time by tapping a button on the device. The video is then uploaded to the popular image-messaging app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. The glasses are the first hardware from the Los Angeles-based company.
The glasses record so-called "circular video," meaning it plays full-screen on any device in any orientation.
They will be available in the U.S. in the fall on a limited basis and cost $130.

BERLIN – Holocaust survivor Max Mannheimer, who dedicated his life in post-war Germany to fighting anti-Semitism, has died. He was 96.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel honored Mannheimer Saturday for his efforts to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive.
Her spokesman, Steffen Seibert, said on Twitter that Merkel is mourning his death and that "we owe him gratitude."
Mannheimer spent two years being held in different death camps, including Auschwitz. Most of his family was murdered during the Holocaust.
After the end of the Third Reich, Mannheimer dedicated his life to talking about the horrors he experienced. He also became the head of the community of former prisoners of the Dachau concentration camp.

Authorities say the suspect in a deadly shooting at a Washington state mall is in custody.
The Skagit County Department of Emergency Management said via Twitter Saturday evening that the suspect had been captured. No other details were immediately available. A news conference was set for Saturday night.
A gunman opened fire at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington, Friday night, killing four females and a male before fleeing. Law enforcement staged a massive search over more than 20 hours for the suspect, initially described by witnesses as a young Hispanic male wearing black.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said Friday that his delegation made several successful business transactions with Israeli companies during a weeklong trade mission.

JERUSALEM — Israel's prime minister said Saturday he hopes President Barack Obama refrains from pushing for a Palestinian state in his final months in office.

One of the world's largest package delivery companies is stepping up efforts to integrate drones into its system.
UPS has partnered with robot-maker CyPhy Works to test the use of drones to make commercial deliveries to remote or difficult-to-access locations.
The companies began testing the drones on Thursday, when they launched one from the seaside town of Marblehead. The drone flew on a programmed route for 3 miles over the Atlantic Ocean to deliver an inhaler at Children's Island.
The successful landing was greeted by jubilant shouts from CyPhy Works and UPS employees on the island to witness the test.

Trump advisor negates claim that sovereignty in Judea and Samaria would ruin Israel's Jewish identity.
David Friedman, Trump's top advisor, came out against claims that Jewish rule in Judea and Samaria would hurt the rest of Israel's Jews by diluting the Jewish character of the country.
"Right now, 75% of the population within the Green Line is Jewish," Friedman said, in a video publicized by Channel 2. "There are 400,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria, as well as another 400,000 in eastern Jerusalem. And it's funny, but the Arab birthrate is declining."

Washington (CNN) President Barack Obama vetoed a bill Friday that would allow family members of 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia, pitting him against Congress and both presidential candidates on an emotionally charged matter.
The White House claimed the legislation could expose US diplomats and servicemen to litigation in other countries. Republican and Democratic leaders in Congress say they'll override Obama's veto next week.

JERUSALEM (AP) — An Israeli official has confirmed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on Sunday.
Netanyahu is in the United States, where he met with President Barack Obama and addressed the U.N. General Assembly this week.

Video footage released Saturday shows Keith Lamont Scott taking four steps slowly backward with his arms at his sides when he is hit in a burst of four gunshots from police, then crumples to the pavement.
From neither vantage point – a police dashboard camera and a body camera worn by one of the officers on the scene – can it be determined whether Scott is holding a gun.
