Cairo - Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri warned the United States of the “gravest consequences” if Boston marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev or any other Muslim prisoners is executed.
Tsarnaev, named in Zawahri’s online video message, was sentenced to death by lethal injection on June 24 last year for the 2013 bomb attack which killed three people and injured more than 260.

The man killed today in the terrorist attack on his family in their car in Har Hevron was a father of ten and 'a pillar of the community;' his longtime friend, MK Yehuda Glick, learned with him at yeshiva.
The man murdered before his wife and two of his ten children whilst driving them on Friday was Rabbi Michael "Miki" Mark, a 48 year old from Otniel, the cousin of Mossad chief Yossi Cohen. Miki's wife, Chava, 40, was seriously wounded, their 13-year-old daughter Tehila was moderately-to-seriously wounded, and their 15-year-old son Pedayah was lightly wounded. Beside the son, every member of the family was shot by terrorists who drove past their car travelling on Route 60 in Har Hevron.

New York, NY - A Muslim policeman who sued the New York City Police Department after he was suspended for refusing to shave his beard has been reinstated and the department has agreed to review its ban on beards, his lawyers said on Thursday.
A judge last week ordered the NYPD to continue paying Officer Masood Syed his salary and benefits after he sued the department, claiming that the no-beard policy was unconstitutional.
“It seems like the department has taken the crucial first step in addressing an important and growing concern of officers of many different faiths,” Syed said in a statement released by his attorneys.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, today (Friday 1 July, 2016), ordered that the amount of money being transferred by the Palestinian Authority to terrorists and their families be deducted immediately; this is in addition to action on the ground by the IDF and the security forces.
The Palestinian Authority transfers funds to terrorists by various laundering methods; the more severe the acts of terrorism, the greater the amount of funds. West Bank - Rabbi Michael Mark, 48, a father of 10 and the director-general of the Otniel Yeshiva was killed Friday by a Palestinian gunmen as he drove on Route 60 in the South Hebron Hills.
Mark was driving with his wife, Chava Rachel, who is in critical condition, and his daughter Tehila (14) and son Pdaia (15), who were also injured in the shooting. Miki and Chava Rachel’s eight other children were at home during the incident and were notified of their father”s death by the authorities.
The junction is located just 15 kilometers down the road from the Kiryat Arba settlement, where a Palestinian terrorist infiltrated a home and stabbed to death Hallel Yaffa Ariel, 13.

Washington - Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has begun formally vetting prospective vice presidential picks.
The New York billionaire is considering former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, among what he previously described as a short list of possible running mates. Their inclusion was confirmed by people with direct knowledge of the vetting process who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the situation publicly.

Lakewood, NJ - Supporters of a bill that would provide free busing for private school children in Lakewood are heaving a collective sigh of relief as the legislation passed the State Assembly today and is now on its way to Governor Chris Christie’s desk for his approval.
The bill, which squeaked through on the final day of the current legislative session, was drafted in response to a decision by a state appointed monitoring team to cancel all courtesy bussing in Lakewood in an effort to alleviate a $12 million budget deficit, as reported by the Asbury Park Press. That shortfall is being blamed on the ever growing transportation and special education needs of Lakewood’s Jewish community.

London - Israeli officials say the Labour Party has apologized to the Israeli ambassador after comments made by party leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Corbyn spoke at the launch of a report examining anti-Semitism inside the opposition Labour Party.
He said Jews were “no more responsible for the actions of Israel” than Muslims were responsible for Islamic State extremists.
Israeli Embassy spokesman Yiftah Curiel said Friday that Labour foreign policy adviser Emily Thornberry had apologized for the remarks.
“Ambassador Mark Regev welcomed Emily Thornberry’s unequivocal apology following Jeremy Corbyn’s unacceptable remarks,” he said.

Shortly after 3:00pm on erev Shabbos 25 Sivan, a terrorist driving a white 5-door KIA opened fire at an Israeli vehicle traveling between Otniel and Beit Chaggai, in the Southern Hebron Hills area.
The vehicle was hit by many 5.56mm bullets, and the driver, in his 40s, who was in traumatic cardiac arrest when the first EMS units arrived, was pronounced dead on the scene. His wife was seated at his side and she too was hit by gunfire, listed in serious condition and being treated in the trauma center of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

Baltimore, MD - July 1, 2016 - This past week local Baltimore resident Rabbi Raffi Bilek kicked off his new chesed organization, Knafayim, with a training for local summer camps on abuse prevention. BJL checked in with him to find out more about this initiative and what his future plans are.
BJL: What was the goal of the camp trainings you did?
RB: The bottom line is really the safety of our children. The issue of child sexual abuse has been swept under the rug for a long time, but baruch Hashem our community is really starting to tackle it seriously. Training camp staff is a really important piece in making this a community a place where abuse can’t happen. Camp can be kind of a high-risk area for this problem, but it doesn’t have to be.

Parshas Bahalosecha, Shlach, and Korach represent a dramatic turn in the direction of the history of Klal Yisroel. Up until this point, the life of Klal Yisroel surrounded the Mishkon and hashroas haschechinoh. Their destination of entering and settling Eretz Yisroel is clear and open. But when we reach these parshiyos, things rapidly deteriorate and the march to Eretz Yisroel comes to a grinding halt. Hashem cuts off communication with Moshe Rabbeinu for nearly forty years until parshas Chukas. This historic transition contains many important fundamentals in the understanding of the dynamic relationship Klal Yisroel has with Hashem.

The results of a Quinnipiac University national poll, released on Wednesday, revealed that 92 percent of American voters would be comfortable with a Jewish vice president.
Quinnipiac asked respondents about six possible candidates: black, female, LGBT, Latino, Jewish or Muslim.
The 92% of respondents who said they would support a Jewish vice president were divided between those (74%) who would be “very comfortable” with the idea, and those (18%) who would be “somewhat comfortable.”
Ninety-five percent of respondents said they would be comfortable with a black in the role; 92% with a woman; and 90% with a Latino. Only 73% said they would be comfortable with a member of the LGBT community, ...

Washington - Attorney General Loretta Lynch intends to accept whatever recommendation career prosecutors and federal agents make in the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, a Justice Department official said Friday.
“The Attorney General expects to receive and accept the determinations and findings of the Department’s career prosecutors and investigators, as well as the FBI Director,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing probe.

Miami, FL - A South Florida man accused of trying to detonate a bomb at a synagogue and Jewish school during Passover observances is facing a new charge.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Miami reports in a news release that 40-year-old James Medina was indicted Thursday on a charge of attempting to damage religious property. He was charged in May with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction.
The FBI says Medina plotted with an undercover informant to acquire a bomb to attack the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center in April. Medina was arrested after the informant provided him with a real-looking dummy bomb that could not explode.

A Labour Party MP said her party is no longer safe for Jews after its leader failed to intervene when she was publicly accused of “colluding” with the right-wing press, the Independent reported Thursday.

Mountain View, CA - Google is serving a new morsel for fans of its Android software: The next version has been dubbed “Nougat,” extending Google’s tradition of nicknaming each overhaul of Android after a sweet food.
The Nougat name announced Thursday comes seven weeks after Google sought suggestions during its annual conference for software engineers.
Nougat is scheduled to be released in new smartphones this fall when the makers of existing Android devices will also be able to enable updates to the new software. Nougat’s new features will include the ability to run apps without actually installing them on a device.
The nicknames for earlier Android versions have included Marshmallow, Lollipop, KitKat, Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread.

Washington - In a warning that’s sure to disappoint many who enjoy sneaking a taste of cookie dough, federal regulators said this week that people should not eat raw dough or batter of any kind due to an ongoing outbreak of illnesses related to a strain of E. coli bacteria found in some recalled flour.
Raw dough also should not be used for homemade play clay for children or to make ornaments, according to the Food and Drug Administration. Restaurants are being advised by the Centers for Disease Control to refrain from giving children raw dough to play with while they wait for their meals.
