A Labour Party MP said her party is no longer safe for Jews after its leader failed to intervene when she was publicly accused of “colluding” with the right-wing press, the Independent reported Thursday.
MP Ruth Smeeth, who is Jewish, said she was “verbally attacked” by an activist linked to the left-wing organization Momentum — which supports Labour head Jeremy Corbyn — during the party’s conference revealing the results of its investigation into antisemitism allegations.
The inquiry — headed by the controversial Sami Chakrabarti — concluded that while there is an “occasionally toxic atmosphere” within the party, it is “not overrun by antisemitism, Islamophobia, or other forms of racism....

Mountain View, CA - Google is serving a new morsel for fans of its Android software: The next version has been dubbed “Nougat,” extending Google’s tradition of nicknaming each overhaul of Android after a sweet food.
The Nougat name announced Thursday comes seven weeks after Google sought suggestions during its annual conference for software engineers.
Nougat is scheduled to be released in new smartphones this fall when the makers of existing Android devices will also be able to enable updates to the new software. Nougat’s new features will include the ability to run apps without actually installing them on a device.
The nicknames for earlier Android versions have included Marshmallow, Lollipop, KitKat, Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread.

Washington - In a warning that’s sure to disappoint many who enjoy sneaking a taste of cookie dough, federal regulators said this week that people should not eat raw dough or batter of any kind due to an ongoing outbreak of illnesses related to a strain of E. coli bacteria found in some recalled flour.
Raw dough also should not be used for homemade play clay for children or to make ornaments, according to the Food and Drug Administration. Restaurants are being advised by the Centers for Disease Control to refrain from giving children raw dough to play with while they wait for their meals.

Family sues Exxelia Technologies for selling drone missile component to Israel. Plaintiffs say Israel killed three children with it in 2014.
A Palestinian family is suing the French company Exxelia Technologies for selling weapons parts to Israel.
Ynet reports that the Shuheibar family from Gaza City filed the suit through the Ancile-avocats law firm and with help from the Christian organization ACAT. The lawyers claim that Exxelia is complicit in war crimes and manslaughter.

Har Hevron, Israel - Two Israelis were wounded after a Palestinian gunman opened fire on their vehicle on Route 60 on Friday afternoon, causing it to overturn near Aduraim Junction, in the Mount Hebron area Magen David Adom paramedics reported finding two injured people; One critically injured man died, and a second was a seriously injured woman. Both are in their 30s, MDA added.
The incident occurred 15 kilometers south of Kiryat Arba. The shooting comes a day after 13-year-old Israeli girl Hallel Yaffa was stabbed to death in her Kiryat Arba home by a Palestinian terrorist from the village of Bani Naim, and after a Tul Karem man went on a stabbing spree in Netanya, injuring two civilians. Both terrorists were shot to death.

Former CIA Director David Petraeus hinted on Wednesday that he will be part of a push to grow Israel’s startup sector and move Israeli companies into the US market, Jewish Insider reported.
Petraeus indicated this during a panel discussion hosted by the Paul E. Tehran - Iranians are staging anti-Israel rallies across the country, with protesters condemning the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and chanting “death to Israel.”
Tens of thousands of people are marching in the capital, Tehran, as part of the al-Quds day rallies held each year on the last Friday of Ramadan. Some protesters trampled the Israeli flag and also chanted “down with the USA.”
Iranian state media reports that similar rallies are taking place across the country.

PM Netanyahu, Ministers Liberman and Ariel, Kiryat Arba-Hevron council head visit bereaved family of terror victim.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu paid a condolence call on Hallel-Yaffa Ariel's family in Kiryat Arba on Friday morning.
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) joined Netanyahu, along with Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) and Kiryat Arba-Hevron council head Malachi Levinger.

Israeli vehicle comes under fire in southern Har Hevron. Two people seriously injured.
Security officials have received reports of shots fired at an Israeli vehicle near the Har Hevron community of Otniel. The incident occurred at Beit Hagai Junction.
At least two people were wounded - one critically and the other seriously.
IDF forces and emergency paramedics are on the scene.

While millions of children got out of bed on the morning of June 30, 2016, excited for summer vacation, one child did not. A young Israeli girl, 13-year-old Hallel Yaffe Ariel, was brutally murdered in her own bed by a 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist. He broke into her house and stabbed her to death. ANNAPOLIS, Md. —Maryland's minimum wage and the state's gas tax are going up. Here's a look at some new laws that take effect Friday:
MINIMUM WAGE
Maryland's minimum wage will rise from $8.25 to $8.75. It's the latest bump scheduled to take effect since lawmakers in 2014 approved increases over several years from $7.25. It is scheduled to go up to $9.25 next year and reach $10.10 in July 2018.
GAS TAX
The state's gas tax will rise nine-tenths of a cent to 33.5 cents. Lawmakers approved several increases in 2013, with regular hikes to adjust for inflation. The state's gas tax has gone up a dime since 2013, when lawmakers approved the first increase in 20 years from 23.5 cents.

Terrorist tried to carry out stabbing attack before being shot by security forces.
An Arab terrorist tried to stab people by the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hevron before being shot by nearby IDF and Border Police forces.
The terrorist reportedly approached a Border Police post at an entrance to the site and pulled out a knife before she was shot. No one else was harmed.
The IDF and Border Police arrested ten Arabs in Judea and Samaria overnight. Most of the suspects were Hamas members who were involved in terror attacks and riots. All ten have been taken for questioning.

In this week’s Parsha, Sh’lach, we see how our people failed in their relationship to the Land of Israel. HaShem was about to take us into the Land of Israel. There were no more prerequisite achievements that had to be accomplished. We already received the Torah, we already constructed the Mishkon we were already in formation – we were ready to enter. Albany, NY - A Democratic political operative pleaded not guilty Thursday to bribery and other charges filed in a New York corruption probe that led to the resignation of a state Supreme Court judge a day earlier.
G. Steven Pigeon was arraigned on a nine-count indictment that accuses him of offering favors and gifts worth more than $10,000 to Judge John Michalek, who pleaded guilty Wednesday to accepting bribes from 2012 to 2015 and is to be sentenced Sept. 21.
“Steve Pigeon engaged in a multiyear scheme to bribe a sitting state judge in an effort to win access and favors for his clients and associates,” said a statement from Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
